Meet FRC Team 1382: ETEP of Brazil!

ETEP Team #1382 Chaiman Award momentThis year, we’ve invited teams participating in the 17th Annual Orlando Regional to share their stories with us.  Our first featured team is FRC Team 1382, of Escola Técnica Professor Everardo Passos (ETEP), from  São José dos Campos, Brazil.

Since 2004, the ETEP Team #1382 has participated in the FIRST Robotics Competition. Students, all middle schoolers, work in mechanics, electronics, mechatronics, informatics and web design. Each year, the team is proud to report, they gain more experience, and win more awards, the result they say, of a well organized team with dedicated members.

“The team is very united, even in the most difficult moments. We participated in several ETEP Team #1382 2014 team with the CRTEC12 (1)regionals and won several awards during our history. The first time we went to a Regional, we won Rookie All-star Award and the last ones were the Chairman’s Award and the Motorola Quality.”

They won the Chairman’s Award at the 2012 New York Regional with their Flood Prevention System, “which greatly helped our region with the floods that were happening.”

They earned the Motorola Quality Award during the Ultimate Ascent challenge  in 2013, and in 2014, they helped support FIRST LEGO League team, the ETEP Robotics #1052, and spread science and technology to children and teens.

Check out this great story about 1382 in the January 2014 FIRST Newsletter, too.

“This year we hope to have a great experience at the Orlando Regional. Good luck, and see you at the competition!” says the team.

We’re looking forward to seeing ETEP and all our great teams at the 2015 Orlando Regional, and can’t wait to hear more of your team stories!

If your team is going to the Orlando Regional and you’d like to share your story with us, send a short team bio (250 words or less please), with your team name, number and location, anything special you’d like us to know about, and your team website address if you have one, along with a couple of photos to by March 6th so we can share your story before the Orlando Regional.
