Team 3653, the Broward Botcats, are on the prowl from South Florida team, with energy and enthusiasm! The Botcats are comprised of students from three local high schools: West Broward High School,
Western High School and
Nova High School.
Hello Orlando! Each year we look forward to coming to the Orlando Regional and this year is no different. We have been busy since we left Orlando last March.
The Team has participated in various community events to promote STEM. We attended several events at the local libraries, school orientation programs, just to name a few. This past summer, our team members hosted STEM Camps at both Nova HS and Western HS, and one of our team members visited Peru and was able to introduce students to STEM and the FIRST Teams. The Team is always looking for new opportunities to share our enthusiasm and this year was no different. The Botcats welcomed Nova High School to the Team. We are also mentoring a rookie Team – Eaglebotics (#5410). This is the second rookie team we have mentored. Also this year, we welcomed a new Teacher Mentor to the team.
As we enter our 5th year, we look back on our short, but impressive history; and look forward to the future. We were finalists at the 2012 South Florida Regional and placed 8th at the 2014 South Florida Regional Competitions. We are grateful for the support we receive from Motorola Solutions Foundation and the engineers who spend countless hours with us; as well as our other sponsors: Publix, Tropical Financial Credit Union, FPL, and Global Turbine Parts who, year after year, show their support for our program.
We want to wish all the teams competing in Orlando the very best of luck, and hope that everyone has a great experience and continues to enjoy their years in FIRST.
We echo those sentiments! Go Team!
