The Orlando Regional is honored to welcome Bright House Networks as a new sponsor this year. Bright House Networks has always been an active community partner in Florida, and over the last year has been working to develop a stronger STEM initiative with their Bright Ideas program and support of FIRST programs, including the ROBOTICON off-season FIRST Showcase in Tampa and now the Orlando Regional.
On March 6, Bright House Networks is honoring six student finalist in the Bright Ideas STEM from Today’s Youth contest, who used STEM — Science, Technology, Engineering and Math — to help make their communities better. The finalists hail from each of the Bright House Networks service areas around the country, and include an Orlando area student, Ashley Chico, from Lake Highland Prep
During the Bright Ideas Youth Finals, Chico and the other finalists will present their projects before judges at the finals in downtown Orlando on March 6 at The Ballroom At Church Street on South Garland Avenue starting at 3 p.m. The winner will have an opportunity to work with the Innovation Consulting firm Fahrenheit 212 in Orlando to better develop his or her idea.
The Bright Ideas Youth Finals are free to attend, but registration is required. Visit the Bright Ideas EventBrite page for more information.
We’re excited to be working with Bright House Networks this year, and looking forward to more Bright Ideas for our Orlando Regional FIRST community!
