Meet FRC Team 5646: The Spider Bots!

Spider bots groupPlease join us in welcoming FRC Team 5646, one of our rookie teams at the Orlando Regional this year. The Spider Bots is a Boys & Girls Club team from the Town and Country area of Tampa, comprised of students from nearby middle and high schools.  Here’s what they have to say about their great team:

We have been able to have an engineering program for teens which focuses on learning theSpiderbots working basic steps of the engineering process. We have about 15 teens participating (boys & girls) who all attend the community middle and high school. We meet twice a week for six weeks to build a robot from scratch that will compete in a recycling-themed challenge.

During the second week of March, we will all be able to compete in Orlando against other robotics teams from around the state. Teachers, Boys and Girls Club coaches and members of the University of South Florida’s Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers are helping us out in areas such as mechanical, electrical, and program engineering. Team members also performed roles such as journalist, designers and photographers.

We are known as the Spider Bots. We chose this team name because it represents the middle school (Webb) some of the team members attend or have attended at one point.

Can’t wait to see the Spider Bots at the Orlando Regional!

Go Team!

If your team is going to the Orlando Regional and you’d like to share your story with us, send a short team bio (250 words or less please), with your team name, number and location, anything special you’d like us to know about, and your team website address if you have one, along with a couple of photos to by March 6th so we can share your story before the Orlando Regional.
