Team Spotlight: Meet Team 108, the SigmaC@Ts, Ft. Lauderdale, FL

CaptureNow in its 18th season, the Orlando Regional is one of the oldest FIRST Robotics Competitions in the nation, and next up in our Team Spotlight, is one of the oldest teams in the country, and the longest standing team in Florida.  Meet Team 108, SigmaC@Ts, established in 1995 in cooperation with Motorola Solutions Foundation.

_______________

Team 108 has competed in over forty-five FIRST Robotics Competition Regional and Championship events, acquiring many awards throughout the process. The team has competed on Einstein at the World Championship in 2005.

With all the experience the team has acquired we strive to be a model of the FIRST mission, “To inspire young people to be science and technology leaders”. It is no secret that our team strives for excellence with our name SIGMAC@T stemming from our leading corporate sponsor, Motorola Solutions, and standing for “Six Sigma”, an expression of engineering excellence. Our team’s “Quest for Perfection” in our operations and product is modeled after the constant quality assurance modeled for us by our corporate mentors.

Team 108 has returned to being an active member of the FIRST community hosting an FIRST LEGO League event in 2014 and a FIRST Robotics Competition off-season event, Mission Mayhem in 2015. This year the SigmaC@Ts will be hosting a SECME event in cooperation with our school’s Emerging Computer Technology program.

Team 108 would like to thank our sponsors, Motorola Solutions Foundation, Florida Power & Light and Apex Machine Company for making this season possible for us. We are glad to be returning to the Orlando Regional after a two year hiatus and looking to win a regional for a third consecutive year.
